Seymour Residence - 350 Oak Grove Rd, Greenland Bay

A cool afternoon breeze swept over her bare shoulders as Eliza hugged her son goodbye. She was probably hugging him too tightly for his liking but she couldn't help it. The day that she thought she'd be prepared for had come and she realized that she was far from prepared by the overwhelming loud sobs that rose up from her chest.

Their first born, and now their eldest, was moving out of home. She closed her eyes and thought back to the days when Josh first came into the world. He was such a delightful little baby and soon quickly grew into a very curious toddler.

She was thankful that his teenager years weren't as troublesome as she thought they might've been. You never know with teens these days, there are so many things that can influence them and sometimes push them down the wrong path but Josh grew to be a strong and independent young man and with his father's personality all the way.

"Mum, you can let go now. You know it's not like I'm moving overseas or anything. I'll still be living in the same town. In fact 10 minutes down the road."

Ignoring her eldest son's plea she continued to hug him tightly for a few seconds longer. "I'm sorry honey, it's just that I'm going to miss you and I can't believe your moving out already. I was expecting at least a few more years of you still being at home."

"It's okay mum." Josh said reassuring his mother with a smile. "I'll come visit, you know that and I'll call you."

"I know honey and I look forward to it." She wiped one of her tear soaked cheeks. "Alright, quickly say goodbye to your father before I fall into an even bigger blubbering mess."

Josh did as his mother suggested and moved onto saying goodbye to his father. "See ya dad," he said as he threw his arms around him.

"See ya buddy." Will knew this wouldn't be the last time he'd hug his son but he knew that the next time could possibly be a long way off. "You know your welcome back anytime, don't you? Though if you come visit after the baby arrives you might have to sleep on the couch, if that's okay."

Josh laughed. "I know and yeah, thanks dad."

Will gave his son a final pat on the back. "Not too much partying either, ya here?"

"Afraid I can't make a promise on that one dad." They both laughed.

"Alright, well I trust that you'll make the right decisions son and remember if you need anything, anything at all, you call me. Okay?"

"Yeah, okay. I will." Josh turned around and packed the last few boxes into the back of his Jeep. Climbing into the drivers seat he turned the ignition and put the car into reverse. "I'll call you, bye!" He called out through the open passenger window as he slowly backed out of the driveway.

Will wrapped a comforting arm around his still sobbing wife. Her reaction was understandable and he too was feeling a little teary eyed. Josh was their first born and although Will knew they'd taught him and brought him up better than most parents would, there was still a worried feeling that they might've missed something along the way. It was a big world out there once you were on your own.

Pippa broke his thoughts as she wrapped an arm around his leg, clinging tightly. "We'll see him again, won't we daddy?"

"Of course we will, honey." He placed a reassuring hand on his youngest daughter's shoulder.

"Bye Josh! I'll come visit soon!" Charlotte called out, waving. "...and thanks for your room!"

Beachside Apartments - Sunsong Avenue, Greenland Bay

Josh stood at the front door of the apartment he was going to call home, for the next how ever many years, and the place he'd be sharing with two of his friends. It almost felt like he should knock first before entering since it didn't feel quite like home just yet, but he packed one box on top of another and eagerly pushed the door open.

"Maddy, where do you want these?" Claire asked after tearing off the sticky tape on yet another cardboard box.

"What are they?"

"Um, just jars of stuff, some cereal boxes."

"I guess in the top cupboard. I dunno yet where everything should go."

"Okay, top cupboard it is then." Claire said in a chirpy voice.

"Hey, hey, hey!" Madison suddenly blurted out when she looked up after hearing a rustling in the entryway and saw Josh walking through the front door. "Look who finally decided to show up!"

Reece climbed over the couch, with his shoes on, to greet his mate. "Josh, ma man! Dude, your finally here!" He held up his hand to high-five his best mate on his arrival.

"Yeah it took long enough. Damn, Mum started crying as I drove out the driveway. " He laughed.

Both Madison and Claire awed in union. "How sweet. She must be starting to really show now, yeah?" Claire asked.

"Yeah." Was all Josh could respond. In all honesty he couldn't wait to move out. It was starting to become rather crowded over at the Seymour household and as soon as the new baby arrived he knew it was bound to get worse.

After Josh and Reece finished greeting Madison ran over to give Josh a welcoming hug.
"It's good to have you here Josh, I honestly couldn't imagine any other friend of my brothers' to be living with us."

"Jesus, Maddy, what are you on?" Reece said with a straight face. His sister was never this hospitable.

"Shut-up Reece." She snapped and threw him a nasty look.

"Thanks Maddy. I hope that one day I can say the same about you too." Josh joked.

Madison pulled back, her eyes narrowing. "Ha, ha. Very funny."

"Alrighty you girls, get back to it! Josh and I are gonna play the PlayStation for a while!"

Both boys plonked down on the couch and picked up a game controller each. "Dude, this place is pretty cool." Josh said as he impatiently pushed the buttons on his controller, waiting for their game to start up.

"Yeah, it's not bad is it. My parents threw in a few extra things for us so we didn't have to buy so much stuff."

"So you gonna be up for a surf in the morning?"

"Depends how much we drink tonight but... hell yeah!"

"Maddy, can you order the pizza now!?" Reece yelled from the couch after feeling his stomach grumble.

"What?! Me?! Claire and I have done most of the unpacking. All you've done for most of the afternoon is sit on your butt watching the game!"

Silence came from the couch except for the odd curse from either boy reacting to something that happened in the video game they were playing.

"...agh, fine. Whatever." Madison pulled her mobile phone from her pocket and ordered their dinner.

Twenty minutes later and they'd scoffed down two family sized pizza's between the four of them, several cans of coke and bottles of beer, and one bottle of Evan spring water. They sat back on the couch in front of the TV feeling full but relaxed and content.

For next couple of hours they all sat pretty still, letting their dinner digest and watching whatever movie was showing on TV. The station suddenly went to an add break which Reece took advantage of to flick it over to the sports channel for a moment. Replays of the game were showing. Replays of the game were always showing.

Madison groaned, "Borrrrring." She said as she reached over and picked up the two empty pizza boxes from the floor and made her way into the kitchen.

"I'm goin' to bed guys." She said. "Don't stay up tooooo late."

"How 'bout you don't be a nag." Reece teased his sister.

"Well someones gotta be. Don't you have work in the morning? Hmm?"

"I think I might go to bed too," Claire said as she turned to face her boyfriend. "Will you be coming up soon?"

"I'm gonna hang here with Josh for a while so don't wait up, buuuut.... I might wake you when I do...." Reece raised an eyebrow and smiled cheekily at his girlfriend.

Claire giggled. "...mmm, okay then." She leaned forward and kissed him goodnight. "Alright, I'll leave you boys to it then." She flashed a smile at them both before leaving.

Josh tried not to take too much notice of his mates canoodling with their girlfriends but sometimes when they were sitting right next to you it was hard not too. Hearing Reece and Claire talk intimately together suddenly gave him a longing to see his own girlfriend.

It had been almost two weeks since he'd seen Natasha. She'd gone on holiday with her parents not long after graduation and then she'd been so busy organizing everything for her Uni course once she got back. They'd spoken over the phone many times and she said she would come over soon to check out the apartment they were all staying at.

But Josh was hoping Natasha's visit would be sooner, rather than later. He didn't know how much longer he could go without seeing her. He missed her and his heart, and possibly other parts ...aghem..., were aching to see her.

Yikes, so first chapter published since I've been back from my break and I feel nervous, lol!

I added some chapter music if anyone is up for it. This was last minute, as usual, but I think it fits.

The romance is already starting to filter through and I think this Part is going to be quite cheeky, if ya know what I mean. *wink wink* These YA, oh I dunno. lol

Enough spamming my own comments...

Thank you for reading and hope you enjoy! :)

There was nothing to be Nervous about, this chapter was great!

This chapter had everything some sad, funny and Aww moment, I really felt for Eliza And Will there first born leaving the nest.
Josh and Reece are already turning in to typical YA's making the girls do everything :P.

Can not wait for chapter 2!

Those poor girls, I wanted to slap the boys for making them do THEIR dirty work! Oh well, it's not like they protested or anything. Grow some balls, ladies! xD

I loved this chapter. I think it's a good start for the new season. :) I'm really excited to see what adventures lie ahead for Josh.

Hi Katerine! How are you!

Aww, thanks, glad you think so! I do feel silly getting all nervous but... it happens. ;)

Eliza was very upset but that could have been her pregnant emotions taking over. lol

Oh yeah, the boys sure are! Haha! I think the girls will get their own back soon though.

Thanks so much Katerine! Always look forward to your comments. :)
